Case Study

A leading Spanish fashion retailer sorts 1,200 parcels per hour across 460 destinations within a highly compact footprint

One of the world's largest fast-fashion groups, headquartered in Spain, needed high-throughput sortation without a sprawling footprint. With Unbox Robotics' swarm-based system, they achieved enterprise-scale performance in a space most operators would consider impossible.

What stood out was their ability to quickly evolve and meet our integration needs. From a proof of concept with 5 robots to a full deployment, the execution matched the ambition at every stage

Open Innovation & Logistics Hub, Global Fashion Retailer

Customer runs one of the most demanding omni-channel fulfillment operations in global fashion. At their Marchamalo facility in Spain, post-packaging parcels needed to reach 460 sort destinations, split across store replenishment and last-mile vans. The outbound area required the system to operate within a highly compact footprint. Their existing two-step manual process could not keep pace.

The full system uses 23 SR650 robots operating along a narrow pathway. 115 dual-sided, four-level binning units, total of 460 dedicated chutes, each precision mapped to a specific store or van. The two-step process became one. Accuracy reached 100%, productivity doubled, and the full system was live within a month of on-site work starting. Customer has since deployed a second site at Ontigola, and discussions for two additional facilities are already underway.
